In 2020, not many small businesses qualified for federal funding via the Payroll Protection Program (PPP). This became problematic since the previous administration continuously reiterated the program was created specifically to help small businesses survive the economic downturn caused by the pandemic and state lockdowns.

In this new second round, things are a bit different. The federal government is now committed to providing small business owners a variety of financial resources that would help sustain and grow their businesses.
